ST. AUGUSTINE − Flagler College swept a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader from Georgia College Saturday afternoon at Saints Field. Flagler won the opener 5-0 and took the second game 8-0 in five innings.
Flagler extends its winning streak to four games and improved to 32-12 overall and 8-6 in the Peach Belt. Georgia College suffered its third consecutive loss and dropped to 11-32 overall and 6-10 in conference play.
In the opener, Flagler starting pitcher
Donna Munafo (Satellite Beach, Fla., Brevard CC) (6-4) tossed six scoreless innings and allowed five hits and struck out four. She retired 13-of-the-first-16 batters she faced and allowed just thee base runners reach scoring position.
Kelly Riddick (Hampton, Fla., Central Florida CC) closed out the first game and retired three-of-the-four batters she faced.
The Saints erupted for four runs in the first inning.
Alona Personius (Lake Stevens, Wash., Florida State College-Jacksonville) belted a two-run home run which hit off the left field foul pole screen. Later,
Katelyn Guinsler (Williston, Fla., Central Florida CC) drove in a run with a single and
Sarah Albino (Adelaide, Australia, Florida State College-Jacksonville) drew a bases loaded walk.
Breezy Collings (Orange City, Fla., Brevard CC) was issued a free pass with the bases loaded in the third inning for Flagler's other tally.
Flagler's Nos. 2-5 hitters went 8-for-13 with three runs batted in and three runs scored. Personius added a single to her sixth home run of the season. Collings and
Tori Jolley (Keystone Heights, Fla., Keystone Heights HS) each singled twice.
Sabine Chandler (8-12) tossed two-plus innings and surrendered seven hits, five runs and walked five batters.
Brandie Monroe singled twice for the Bobcats.

In game two, the Saints took advantage of a couple of wild pitches by Bobcat starter Haley Burnett (1-13) and back-to-back RBI singles by Jolley and
Kaycee Lisa (Seminole, Fla., Seminole HS) to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
That's all Riddick (13-4) would need as she tossed four scoreless innings, allowed two hits and struck out four to pick up the win. She retired the last seven batters she faced.
Lisa added a two-run single in the second and Flagler added two more runs in the third before the game ended in four and one-half innings due to the mercy rule.
Lauren Bessent (Jacksonville, Fla., Trinity Christian Academy) singled twice and scored twice for the Saints. Jolley also collected two singles and drove in two runs. Lisa singled twice and knocked in three runs.
Burnett tossed 1.2 innings and allowed six hits, three earned runs, walked two and tossed a pair of wild pitches.
Lauren Potts singled and doubled for Georgia College.
Flagler hosts Augusta State University Tuesday (Apr. 5) at 5 p.m. at Saints Field in a key Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader.
