GREENWOOD, S.C. − Flagler College split a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader at Lander University Sunday afternoon at Doug Spears Field. Lander won the opener 2-1 and Flagler took the second game 4-3.
Flagler moved its overall record to 28-10 overall and 4-6 in the Peach Belt. The 28 wins ties the school record, set last year, for wins in a season. Lander goes to 17-12 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
In the opener, Jaime Presnell hit a two-out triple to left-center which scored Rachelle Adkins from first in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Saints had the game-tying run at second base with one out in the seventh, but couldn't score the run.
Hayley Leissner (10-6) tossed a complete game four-hitter. She allowed one run, walked three and fanned five.
Chasity Davis singled twice for the Bearcats.
Donna Munafo (Satellite Beach, Fla., Brevard CC) (5-3) pitched a complete game and scattered six hits and allowed one earned run and struck out four.
Sarah Albino (Adelaide, Australia, Florida State College-Jacksonville) hit an RBI double in the second inning.

In the second game,
Breezy Collings (Orange City, Fla., Brevard CC) went 2-for-4 and collected three runs batted in to help lead Flagler to a 4-3 win.
Collings hit a RBI single to right field in the first inning to put the Saints on top early.
In the fifth inning, with runners at second and third,
Alona Personius (Lake Stevens, Wash., Florida State College-Jacksonville) drew a walk, but the fourth ball was a wild pitch which allowed Albino to score from third. Collings followed with a two-run single and the Saints held a 4-0 lead.
Lander rallied in the home half of the fifth inning. Adkins led off the inning with a home run and three batters later Sara Fuller doubled home another run. The Bearcats scored the last run of the inning with the help of a Saint error.
The Bearcats, trailing by a run, had runners at first and second with two outs in the seventh, but could not push across another run to tie the game.
Kelly Riddick (Hampton, Fla., Central Florida CC) (11-3) tossed 4.1 innings, scattered three hits and allowed two earned runs.
Kalyn Loverich (St. Johns, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) pitched the last 2.2 innings to earn her fourth save of the season, which breaks the season record of three held by
Sam Boatner in 2009. She allowed just two hits and fanned two.
Lauren Ely (Winter Springs, Fla., Winter Springs HS) added a double for the Saints.
Leissner (10-7) took the loss in the circle for the Bearcats. She tossed 4.2 innings, allowed five hits and four runs.
Adkins hit a single along with the home run. .
Flagler will travel to Melbourne on Thursday (Mar. 24) to take on Florida Tech at 2 p.m.
