VALDOSTA, Ga. − Flagler College finished in 11th place at the 14-team First Federal Southeastern Collegiate which concluded Tuesday at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club (par 72; 7140 yards). Flagler carded a 313 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 916.

Georgia College topped the field by just four strokes over second place Barry University. The Bobcats shot a 285 to pass the Buccaneers and finish with an 869.

Patrick Garrett of Georgia College took home medalist honors with a 4-under par 212. He carded a 2-under 70 this afternoon. He won by two strokes over Aaron Elrod of Armstrong Atlantic State University and Rourke Van Der Spuy of Columbus State University.

Greg Mergel (Allenwood, N.J., Wall Township HS) led the Flagler contingent with a 4-over 220 to finish in a tie for 15th place. He carded a 5-over 77 in the final round. Travis Ralph (St. Petersburg, Fla., St. Petersburg College) tied for 46th place with a 12-over 228. Christopher Waxberg (Stockholm, Sweden, Hersby) finished in a tie for 53rd place with a 15-over 231. Andrew McCracken (Virginia Beach, Va., First Colonial HS) shot a 21-over 237 and finished in 68th place. Christopher Hughes (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Ponte Vedra HS) withdrew from the tournament's final round.

Flagler hosts a tri-match tomorrow (Mar. 16) at The Palencia Club against the University of Illinois-Springfield and Amherst College. The players will tee off at 1:30 p.m.
