PANAMA CITY, Fla. − The Flagler College men's golf team defended its Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate title Tuesday afternoon at the Hombre Golf Club (par 72; 6541 yards). The Saints posted a 307 for the rain-shortened 18-hole tournament and won by a single stroke over second place Central Alabama Community College.
Christian Humber of CACC took home medalist honors with a 1-over par 73.
Greg Mergel (Allenwood, N.J., Wall Township HS) led Flagler's quintet of players with a 2-over 74 and finished in second place.
Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) carded a 4-over 76 and finished in a tie for eighth place.
Alex Bennett (Rochester, Mich., Scottsdale CC) finished in a tie for 13th place with a 5-over 77 and
Chris Bray (Hilliard, Fla., Hilliard HS) finished in a tie for 33rd place with an 8-over 80.
Christopher Waxberg (Stockholm, Sweden, Hersby) rounded out the field for Flagler with a 13-over 85.
Flagler plays in the AASU Pirate Invitational Feb. 21-22 at the Savannah Quarters CC in Pooler, Ga.
