ST. AUGUSTINE − Breezy Collings (Orange City, Fla., Brevard CC) went 3-for-6 with a double, home run and four runs batted in to help lead Flagler College to a doubleheader sweep over Florida Tech Sunday afternoon at Saints Field. Flagler won the opener 3-2 and took the nightcap 8-0 in five innings.

Flagler raised its record to 4-0 on the season while Florida Tech slipped to 1-3.

In the opener, Collings belted an RBI double down the left field line to give Flagler a 3-0 lead. The Saints held on for the 3-2 win as the Panthers scored runs in the fifth and sixth to close the gap.

Flagler jumped on Florida Tech early with a pair of runs in the first. Alona Personius (Lake Stevens, Wash., Florida State College-Jacksonville) hit a double into the left field corner to plate the first run and she scored on a Collings single.

Lauren Bessent (Jacksonville, Fla., Trinity Christian Academy) singled twice and scored a run for the Saints. Collings singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

Kelly Riddick (Hampton, Fla., Central Florida CC) (2-0) tossed five-plus innings, scattered five hits and allowed two runs. Kristen Chapman (Jacksonville, Fla., Sandalwood HS) pitched the final two innings.

Lauren Cole socked a solo home run to lead off the sixth for Florida Tech. She also singled.

Brianna Barth (1-1) pitched six innings and surrendered six hits, three runs and struck out four.

In the nightcap, Flagler erupted for seven runs and sent 13 batters to the plate in the fourth inning en route to the 8-0 win in five innings, due to the mercy rule.

Both pitchers had dominated the first three and one-half innings. Florida Tech starter, Freddy Kraus (0-2), retired the first eight-of-nine batters she faced. Flagler's Kalyn Loverich (St. Johns, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) (2-0) retired the first 10-of-11 batters she faced.

Personius started the offensive attack in the fourth with a one-out single to left. Collings ripped a 1-0 pitch over the left-center field wall to give Flagler a 2-0 lead. Brittany Simmons (Ocala, Fla., Chattanooga State Tech CC) followed with an RBI double to knock Kraus out of the game and the rout was on.

Loverich tossed four innings to earn the win. She allowed just one hit and fanned three. Donna Munafo (Satellite Beach, Fla., Brevard CC) pitched the fifth and surrendered a hit.

Personius singled twice, scored a run and drove in another. Simmons doubled twice, scored two runs and collected an RBI.

Sarah Oram broke up Loverich's no-hit bid to lead off the fourth with a single. Emily Densem also singled for the Panthers.

Kraus tossed 3.1 innings and allowed four hits, four earned runs and fanned three.

Flagler will take on Ave Maria University on Friday at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce at 2 p.m.
