AUGUSTA, Ga. − Flagler College senior outside hitter/middle blocker
Meg Weathersby (Maitland, Fla./Orangewood Christian) was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 5, released by conference officials.
Weathersby was named the conference player of the week three times during the 2009 campaign.
Weathersby had a great week leading the 22nd-ranked Saints to a 4-0 record. She recorded a team-high 68 kills, and average of 4.86 per set. Weathersby ranks second in the conference in kills per set, and is eighth in hitting percentage (.323). In the match against USC Aiken, she recorded a career-high 27 kills to help rally Flagler to a 3-2 win, and completed the double-double with 13 digs. She hit .632 against Coker College with 12 kills and then racked up 17 kills against Wingate.
Flagler (4-0) travels to Savannah, Ga., for the AASU Pirate Volleyball Classic on Friday and Saturday. Rollins College and the University of West Georgia are up first for the Saints.
