ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Laura Beth Lancaster (Ocala, Fla./Georgia Southern University) led a balanced attack with nine kills to help lead Flagler College to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-18) win over Armstrong Atlantic State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's volleyball match Wednesday night at Flagler Gym.

Flagler improved to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt while AASU lost its fourth match in a row and fell to 7-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Meg Weathersby (Maitland, Fla./Orangewood Christian) added eight kills, six digs and two total blocks for the Saints. Rachel Stacy (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek HS) chipped in with eight kills and three total blocks while Crystal Niederriter (Merritt Island, Fla./Merritt Island HS) came off the bench to contribute six kills. Casey Gnann (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River HS) led the defense with 12 digs. Rebecca Royal (Green Cove Springs, Fla./Fleming Island HS) and Olivia Snipes (Easley, S.C./Easley HS) registered 19 and 13 assists, respectively.

Amanda Jones led the Pirates with nine kills as the team was held to a .043 hitting percentage. Torrie Bevolo paced the defense with nine digs and Megan Pando tallied 15 assists.

In the first set, a Jones kill got AASU to within two (9-7), but Flagler went on a 6-2 run to force a Pirate timeout and the lead grew to as much as eight (22-14). Flagler held off a brief run by Armstrong Atlantic to take the set 25-18.

In the second set, Flagler hit a scorching .424 and cruised to a 25-13 win.

In the third and final set, the Saints raced out to a big lead (15-6) and weathered the end of the set to win 25-18 and take the match.

Flagler hosts another Peach Belt match Friday (Oct. 1) against UNC Pembroke at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
