ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − The University of South Carolina Beaufort took home the inaugural Jay Jennison Memorial trophy after winning the weather-shortened tournament with a 592, one stroke better than the host Flagler College (593) and three better than Valdosta State University. The 36-hole tournament concluded Tuesday at the Palencia Club (par 72; 7,071 yards).

The tournament bears the name of the former Flagler men's golf coach (2007-09) who passed away this past summer after his battle with cancer.

Jon Pannone of USCB took home medalist honors after carding a 1-under par 143. He was the lone player in the 80-man field to break par. Pannone recorded eight birdies over the two rounds, all coming on the front nine. Four players finished in a tie for second with a 2-over 146, including Flagler's Chris Bray (Hilliard, Fla./Hilliard HS).

Bray tied for the lowest round of the tournament with a 70 in the final round. He recorded four birdies this afternoon which helped shave six strokes off his first round score. Greg Mergel (Allenwood, N.J./Wall Township HS) finished in a tie for sixth-place with a 3-over 147. Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla./Bartram Trail HS) finished with a 5-over 149 and finished in a tie for 13th place. He eagled the 18th hole in the second round. Justin Wingo (Fairfax, Va./George Mason U.) tied for 20th with a 7-over 151. Alex Bennett (Rochester, Mich./Scottsdale CC) tied for 42nd with a 13-over 157 to round out the team scorers. Travis Ralph (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg College) finished in a tie for 64th place with a 20-over 164.
