CLEARWATER, Fla. − Kelly Riddick (Hampton, Fla./Central Florida CC) fired a one-hit shutout win to lead Flagler College to a 4-0 win over the University of Tampa in a non-conference softball game at Eddie C. Moore Field Friday afternoon. Flagler also defeated Florida Tech 7-4 Friday night, but statistics for the game were not available.

Flagler finished the day with a 5-3 overall record.

Riddick (3-1) retired 14-of-the-first-15 batters she faced and only one Spartan made it as far as second base. She fanned eight and induced nine fly outs and four ground outs.

Brittney Hatem (Hialeah, Fla./Wallace CC-Dothan) went 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice. Katherine Cabrera (Hialeah, Fla./Miami Dade College) hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, her first of the season.

Julie Wisniewski broke up the no-hitter bid with a single in the top of the sixth inning. Kari Walsh tossed a complete game, gave up six hits, two earned runs and struck out 10.

Flagler continues play in the tournament on Saturday against Saint Leo at 1:30 p.m. and then against No. 15 (NFCA Division II poll) Nova Southeastern at 4 p.m.
