ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Meg Weathersby (Maitland, Fla./Orangewood Christian) recorded a match-high 14 kills to help lead Flagler College to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-17) win over Augusta State University in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Friday night at Flagler Gym.

Flagler snapped its two-match losing streak and improved to 17-7 overall and 7-1 in the Peach Belt. Augusta State fell to 7-13 overall and 2-7 in conference play. Flagler won both matches of this year's series.

Weathersby hit a sizzling .636 as she had an errorless 22 swings. She also added four total blocks. Dianna Craine (Oshawa, Ontario/University of Tulsa) added seven kills and two aces. Jillian Unitas (Baldwin, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) collected a match-high 13 digs. Rebecca Royal (Green Cove Springs, Fla./Fleming Island HS) and Olivia Snipes (Easley, S.C./Easley HS) tallied 18 and 16 assists, respectively. Emilee Taylor (Temple Terrace, Fla./Armwood HS) chipped in with six kills and hit .500 for the Saints coming off the bench.

Karolina Stenlund led the Jaguars with nine kills. Mandy Irizarry added seven kills and nine digs. Mary Beth Ingram tallied 21 assists and Chase Lowther added nine digs.

Flagler cruised through the first set leading by as many as 16 points (18-2). The Saints hit .455 and held the Jaguars to a -.059 percentage.

With the score tied at 8-all in the second set, Flagler went on a 10-2 run en route to a 25-19 win. ASU was able to cut the deficit to four (21-17), but could not get any closer. The Jaguars struggled hitting just .033.

The Saints hit .500 in the third and final set led by Cat Houston (Niceville, Fla./Niceville HS) who racked up four kills and hit .800.

Flagler hosts the University of Montevallo in another Peach Belt Conference match tomorrow (Oct. 16) at 2 p.m. at Flagler Gym. Donations to help support a local breast cancer patient will be accepted at the match.
