Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.--The Flagler men's soccer team opened their season last Friday with a 4-2 defeat against 20th-ranked West Florida. The Saints found themselves trailing 4-0 before sophomore midfielder Eammon Murphy (Winter Springs, Fla. / Winter Springs HS) was able to cut into the Argonauts' lead. 

Murphy's first goal came in the 70th minute when he attacked the box and scored on West Florida goalkeeper Elliot Purdom. His second goal came with 39 seconds to play on an assist from Pol Berenguer (Barcelona, Spain/ St. Augustine HS). 

The Saints did take 13 shots, but West Florida had a 7-6 advantage in corner kicks. 

Flagler has two road games this week. The first comes Sept. 4 at Anderson (S.C.) University (2-0) at 7 p.m. The second game comes Sunday against Barry (1-1) in Anderson, S.C. at 11 a.m.
