Jacopo Denitto of the men's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending May 26.

The Lecce, Italy native posted a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles and defeated two nationally-ranked opponents to help lead Flagler to a national runner-up at the NCAA Division II National Tournament. He teamed with Max Berner to win one of Flagler's three doubles wins last week.  

His win (6-1, 6-3) over Bruno Sabio of Edinoro University clinched the Round of 16 match. Denitto and Berner's win in doubles clinched the doubles point for the Saints. He followed that with a match-clinching win over No. 11 Joaquin Bianchi of the University of Texas Tyler in a quarterfinal match. He won 5-7, 6-3, and 6-2. Denitto defeated Justin Welz of Columbus State University in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) in a semifinal match. His win in single in the championship match started Flagler's rally. Denitto defeated No. 26 Luca Mack of Valdosta State University 7-5 and 6-4.

Denitto ends his career with a 69-34 record in singles and a 35-35 mark in doubles.
