Jacopo Denitto of the men's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending Feb. 18.
Denitto posted a 2-1 record in singles and an 0-2 mark in doubles at the ITA Division II National Men's Team Indoor Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Lecce, Italy native helped Flagler to a best-ever third-place finish with a 4-0 win over Columbus State University. Denitto had the distinction of being the deciding match in each of Flagler's two wins. On Friday, his win at No. 1 singles over Luca Mack (6-4,4-6, 6-4) of top-ranked Valdosta State University secured a 4-3 win for the Saints. Sunday, he wrapped up the match with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Camilo Cano of Columbus State.
