Malik Bryant of the men's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 8.

Bryant averaged 27.0 points per game and shot an astounding 71 percent from the field to help Flagler to a 1-1 record last week. The Fort Mill, South Carolina native scored a season-high 30 points in a win at USC Aiken last Saturday. Bryant made 12-of-16 from the field and added five assists and four rebounds to his tally. Last Wednesday, he poured in 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field in a loss to Columbus State. Bryant is fourth in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring (16.4 ppg) and field goal percentage (57.7).
