Jaizec Lottie of the men's basketball team was named as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by St. Augustine Inn, for the month of March.
He was selected as the player of the week twice - March 8 and 21.
(from the March 8 release)Â Lottie was named the Peach Belt Conference Tournament's Most Valuable Player after averaging 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in the two games in the tourney. He also helped Flagler win its first postseason conference tourney since 2003-04. The Aurora, Colorado native made 56.7 percent of his shots from the field and 46.7 percent of his shots from 3-point range.
(from the March 21 release) Lottie broke the school record for most three-pointers made in a game with 10 as he poured in a game-high 35 point to help lead No. 8 Flagler to an 89-75 win over No. 12 The University of Alabama in Huntsville to claim the program's first regional championship in men's basketball. Lottie was named the tournament's most outstanding player. He added nine rebounds and dished out five assists in the game as well. Â
