Vaughn McCall of the men's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 21.
McCall helped lead Flagler to a perfect 3-0 week as he averaged a team-high 23 points per game. He made 53.3 percent of his shots from the field and shot 45.5 percent (10-22) from 3-point range. McCall also made 11-of-14 from the free throw line. The Ocoee, Florida native tied his career-high on Saturday with 30 points in Flagler's 75-70 win at Francis Marion. He scored the game's last seven points, which helped erase a 70-68 Patriot lead. Earlier in the week, he poured in 27 points in an 86-78 win at North Georgia.
McCall is third in the conference in scoring and scoring average, fifth in field goal percentage, and ninth in 3-pointers made.Â
