Charlene Nowotny of the women's soccer team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 15.

This is the second time this fall she has received the weekly honor (Sept. 10).

Nowotny helped lead Flagler to a 1-0-1 week as she scored two goals. The Marburg, Germany native scored both goals last Saturday in Flagler's 2-0 win at Rollins College. She took a total of 10 shots with six on frame for a 60 percent accuracy mark last week.

Nowotny has 11 goals this season and has scored the most goals in a season, by a Flagler player, since 2011. She is second in the Peach Belt Conference in goals scored, third in points (28) and fourth in assists (6). Nowotny is second in league with five game-winning goals.
