Fio Fustagno of the women's soccer team was selected as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Sleep Inn, for the month of September.

Fustagno was the athlete of the week during the month for the period ending Oct. 1.

Fustagno scored a team-high three goals and added an assist to help lead No. 12 (United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Flagler College to a 2-0 week. The Asunción, Paraguay native scored a pair of goals, including one in the final minute of regulation, in Flagler's 3-2 overtime win at the University of North Georgia. She also tallied the assist on the golden goal just a little over four minutes into the overtime period. Fustagno scored a goal in Flagler's 4-0 romp at Georgia Southwestern State University last Wednesday. She scored three goals on just five shots for a shooting percentage of 60 percent.

Fustagno scored six goals and tallied two assists for 14 points last month.
