Mike O'Reilly of the baseball team was selected as the March Athlete of the Month.

O'Reilly was the athlete of the week for the period ending March 26.

O'Reilly tossed a complete game five-hit shutout against No. 17 Columbus State University on March 25. He struck out six batters and walked just two. O'Reilly held the Cougars to a .161 batting average. Columbus State entered as the team-leader in several offensive categories in the Peach Belt Conference, including team batting average (.345). O'Reilly only allowed two base runners to reach scoring position and he only allowed seven base runners in the entire game. He retired 11 batters on fly outs and another nine on ground outs. 

During the month of March, O'Reilly posted a 2-1 record to go along with a 3.38 earned run average. He made four appearances with two complete games, including one shutout. In 29.1 innings pitched, O'Reilly allowed 26 hits, struck out 34 batters and walked just five. 

For the season, O'Reilly is 5-3 with a 3.52 ERA. In nine starts, he has the only two complete games as well as the only shutout. In 64 innings pitched, he has 69 strikeouts to just 13 walks.
