Jose Martinez of the men's tennis team was selected as the TraveLynx Athlete of the Week, for the period ending March 8.

Martinez, ranked No. 13 in Division II in singles play by the ITA, won both of his singles matches last week and split his doubles matches. He defeated his second ranked opponent of the season in No. 23 Daniel Riggs of Lynn University, 7-5 and 6-4. Martinez also posted a straight-sets (6-3 and 6-0) win over Jui Mao of No. 4-ranked Concordia College of New York which turned out to be Flagler's lone point in the match.

Martinez holds an 8-1 record in singles play this year and is 4-0 against Peach Belt Conference competition. He is 2-1 against nationally-ranked players and 3-0 against regionally ranked competition. In doubles play, Martinez is 6-3 when paired with Bruno Padilha.
