Ashley Lechleidner-Rodriguez of the volleyball team was selected as the Sizzlin' Saint award recipient, sponsored by Applebee's, for the month of October.
“Ashley (or A-ROD as she has been labeled by the team) has made a tremendous impact on our program in the first few months," said head volleyball coach Matt Affolder. "She has been one of our top passers and has been a primary back row player throughout the first half of the season. Ashley has played as a defensive specialist for two different back row positions, she has filled in as our libero when our starter went down with an injury, and she has also played in the front row as an outside hitter for a short stretch due to her all-around abilities. Ashley has had a great work ethic and ‘team first’ mentality throughout all of these adjustments. She is a very hard worker, is very determined to get better each day, and has made a huge impact on our passing and defense.”
