Austin O'Connor of the men's soccer team was selected as the inaugural Sizzlin' Saint award recipient, sponsored by Applebee's.
"Austin has undergone more rehab than any other Flagler athlete," said head men's soccer coach John Lynch. "After three knee surgeries, he made it to the field against Georgia Southwestern State University and the University of North Carolina Pembroke. His determination to play has been incredible but more than that, what he has done for the program despite not being healthy to play has been immeasurable. Austin does the laundry, picks up cones, moves goals, video tapes games, and is a leader in the dressing room. Anything I ask him, he does and many times he does it without being asked.

"If all our athletes had his passion, determination and commitment, every sport would win a PBC Championship," added Lynch. "I don’t get emotional but I had a tear in my eye when Austin made it back onto the field of play. It meant that much too him."
