Tyler Vanover of the baseball team was selected as the Student-Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Courtyard and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott St. Augustine, for the month of April.
Vanover was named student-athlete of the week for the period ending April 28.
He led the team with a .483 batting average (14-29) and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Of his 14 hits, he had two doubles, two triples, three home runs, 10 runs batted in and 12 runs scored. In a game against Florida Memorial, Vanover became just the third player to hit for the cycle.
Vanover finished the season with a .298 batting average, 42 hits, 10 doubles, a team-high six triples and nine home runs. He drove in 38 runs and scored 34 runs.
