Shorty Spencer of the women's basketball team was selected as the Student-Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Courtyard and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott St. Augustine, for the month of March.

Spencer was selected as the student-athlete of the week on March 3 and 10.

Spencer helped lead Flagler to its first Peach Belt Conference Tournament appearance, and win, as the Saints went 1-2 in the month of March. She averaged 21.0 points and 3.3 steals per game. Spencer made 58.5% of her shots from the field and 42.9% of her shots from 3-point range.

Spencer tallied 27 points in the regular season finale against Augusta State University and then scored 20 points in the quarterfinal win over the University of Montevallo.

For the season, spencer averaged 16.9 points and 4.3 assists per game. She made 40.7% of her shots from 3-point range and was a 79.4% shooter from the free throw line. The Saints finished with a 15-13 overall record and a 10-9 mark in conference play.
