Alison Bondy of the women's soccer team was selected as the Diamond in the Rough for the month of October, sponsored by Nettles Fine Jewelry.

“Alison is a huge help to the team on and off the field," said head women's soccer coach Teddy Meyer. "She is a defender that has a ‘team first’ and hard-working mentality. Alison didn’t start for us during the beginning of the year, but she finished as a starter and came up with quality defensive performances when the team needed her.

"In the Armstrong game she made a game-saving clearance off the goal line to preserve the 2-2 tie at the very end of regulation. Our team responded with personal recognition of her that acknowledged the tireless work and commitment to our team she has shown since her arrival in August.

"Alison was an asset before and after practices and games as well. During practices she was the first freshman out to set up the field and last to help lead the breakdown of practice. Whether she started in the matches or not, she was the first player to set up and break down the field for game-day. She is always the first to ask if there is anything that needs to be done or anything she can help with. She is also one of the first girls to come up to me and volunteer to host several recruits over the semester.

"Even though the stats may not show it, Alison was one of the most impactful players on the team in October and throughout the season. I believe she is a strong representation of what the “Diamond in the Rough” promotion stands for.”
