Kaycee Lisa of the softball team was selected as the Diamond in the Rough for the month of March, sponsored by Nettles Fine Jewelry.
“Kaycee is a four-year senior who had her season come to an end after getting hit by a pitch in the face," said Kristen Overton, head softball coach. "She had to have surgery to repair some of the broken bones in her nose. Prior to her injury Kaycee was our designated player, and was doing well in the role. After the injury, the players voted Kaycee as the Most Valuable of the team, because of her passion and love for the game. She is a great teammate and well-liked by everyone on the team. As a coach, Kaycee is one of the players that I can always rely on to do the right things. She is a great leader on and off the field.”
