Academic Eligibility
You must meet certain academic requirements to be eligible to practice and compete as a Division II student-athlete at Flagler College. A student-athlete must be a full-time student (12 hours) in order to practice or compete. The only exception to this rule is for student-athletes in their final semester prior to graduation who do not need 12 hours to complete requirements for graduation.

Major Declaration
Student-athletes must declare a major by the start of their fifth full-time semester to remain eligible. If you plan on switching majors, please consult with the Compliance Office first, as it may impact your eligibility.

Annual Competition Requirement: 24-Hour Rule
At the start of each academic year (fall semester), a student-athlete's continuing eligibility is determined by whether or not the student-athlete has successfully completed at least 24 hours since the start of the previous year. A student-athlete must pass a minimum of 9 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters and may use hours in the summer to satisfy the 24-hour rule.

Semester Competition Requirement: 9-Hour Rule
At least 9 credit hours must be successfully completed each semester to remain eligible for competition the following semester. Summer school cannot be used to satisfy this requirement.

Sports Wagering
NCAA rules prohibit student-athletes from participating in any gambling activity that involves any sport sponsored by the NCAA at any level. Any activity that involves putting something at risk for the chance to win something in return is considered sports wagering and an NCAA violation. Sport wagering puts the student-athlete's eligibility in jeopardy. This includes fantasy leagues and tournament brackets.
