MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Flagler College women's soccer team (2-4-1 overall, 2-1 PBC) dropped its first Peach Belt Conference match of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling at Georgia College (4-2 overall, 2-0 PBC) by a final score of 3-0.

TURNING POINT
Georgia College jumped on the visiting Saints early as the Bobcats found the back of the net in the 7
th minute. Alayna Cobb and Saints defender
Trinity Gray jockeyed for position inside the box, where Gray initially won the battle. However, the ball found Mackenzly Cheely who put a strike to the box left corner of net for the early 1-0 lead.
The Bobcats would add onto their lead in the 26
th minute. Kat Wilber chipped a deep ball into the box from midfield and Mackenzly Cheely chipped a bouncing ball over the Flagler goalkeeper to extend the lead to 2-0.
Georgia College kept the pressure into the second half and netted their third and final goal in the 69
th minute. Kat Wilber dribbled down the right side of the box before sending a cross to Brittany Bakke. With her back turned, Bakke settled the pass before spinning and firing a shot to the top right corner of goal to push the Bobcats lead to 3-0.
KEY STATS & NOTES
- Freshman Eleanora Close got her second career start and turned in a pair of shots on goal over 57 minutes of work.
- Fellow newcomer Netanya Brown led the Saints attacked with three shots, including two on target.
- Ava Scott, Haley Stafford, Brooke Rienecker, Ella Gembicki, and Analena Jacob rounded out the offense with a shot.
- Mackenzly Cheely led the Bobcats with a brace over 51 minutes of work.
- Both offenses generated 10 shots, with the Bobcats placing eight on goal compared to the Saints six on goal.
- Flagler fell to 12-6-3 all-time in the series against Georgia College.
