ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Flagler College women's soccer team (2-4-2 overall, 2-1-1 PBC) returned home on Wednesday night following a lengthy road stretch to open the season. The Saints welcomed No. 15 Lander (5-0-2 overall, 0-0-1 PBC) for a marquee Peach Belt Conference match and turned in a 0-0 draw to earn a point in league play.
TURNING POINT
Despite the scoreless outcome, both offenses generated scoring opportunities by combining for 21 shots. Flagler outshot the visitors 11-10 on the night, but the Bears placed four on target compared to the Saints two. The intensity ramped up in the final 15 minutes of action as the Saints generated four corner kicks down the final stretch.
With less than a minute remaining in the match, the Saints generated one final attack. Sophomore
Phoebe Davidson snuck past the Bears backline and made one move in front of the Lander goalkeeper before chipping a shot towards net. As the final seconds ticked down and the ball bounced towards the net, a Lander defender and
Netanya Brown bolted towards the goal and jockeyed for positioning at the line. The Bearcats defender slid and kicked Davidson's shot out of the box just inches before it crossed the goal line to keep Flagler off the board and hold on to a 0-0 draw.

th as the Saints host Columbus State. Kick off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the Peach Belt Conference Sports Network.
