Flagler men’s lacrosse receives team sportsmanship award

4/29/2026 10:17:00 PM

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Flagler College men's lacrosse program is the recipient of the Peach Belt Conference Team Sportsmanship Award for the first time in the program's short five-year history, the league office announced on Wednesday (April 29).

Started in 2008, the Team Sportsmanship Award is presented following each championship season to the team in each sport that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and generally conducts themselves with a high degree of integrity, character and class. The award is voted for by all teams who compete in that sport. The votes gathered for each sport throughout the year are adjusted into points awarded for each team and used to help determine the PBC Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award. All points from throughout the year are totaled and shared with the Senior Woman Administrators, who then vote for the 'PBC Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award".

"Our culture has been everything from day one and this team has put all the energy into doing it the right way on and off the field," said head men's lacrosse coach Brian Duncan.

Flagler has won the PBC Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award eight times, including six consecutive years (2010-11 through 2015-16) and in 2017-18 as well as 2018-19. Flagler claimed its 40th team sportsmanship award, which leads all PBC institutions.
