ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - For the first time this season, the new No. 15, Flagler College women's tennis team holds a player ranked in the top-10 of this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II National Poll, released this morning per organization officials.
Over the week, the Saints hosted their only match on Friday. Upsetting No. 11 University of North Georgia 4-3, this is the second season in a row that the Saints defeated the Knighthawks in the regular season. Advancing one spot, the Saints moved to No. 15 while North Georgia dropped to No. 13. Within the Peach Belt Conference, Columbus State University is ranked No. 18 while Middle Georgia State University is ranked No. 29.
Sophomore standout
Elena Ondobo is the first Saint to crack the top-10 this season in singles ranking. Ondobo moved up eight spots to No. 9 after defeated then No. 22 Olesya Stokusova 6-4 and 6-3.
Eryka Kruk also moved up one spot to No. 13 after upsetting No. 12 Anastasiia Opolska 5-7, 6-0, and 6-2.
