ST. AUGUSTINE - The top ranked Flagler College women's lacrosse team handily defeated Westminster University (Utah) 18-7 this morning at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
The Saints advanced to 7-0 on the season while the Griffins fell to 1-2 overall. The Saints will host No. 8 Lynn University on Saturday, Mar. 7 at 1 p.m.
A suffocating defense held the Griffins to seven goals allowed this match. In six of the Saints seven matches, the Saints allowed 10 or less goals and scored 15 or more goals. Peppering the goal, the Saints out shot the Griffins 38-15 and also doubled their draw controls, winning 18-27.
On offense,
Kylie Budke and
Ava Lambros both registered a hat trick. Lambros notched one more assist while Budke shot 100%. Overall, 13 different Saints registered at least one point with 12 scoring at least one goal. A whole team effort, seven different Saints registered one caused turnover.
