BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sophomores
Dakota Capolino and
Ava Lambros of the Flagler College women's lacrosse team were named Gulf South Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, per conference officials.
Last week, Lambros recorded 12 points as Flagler went 2-0, including a ranked win against No.1 Florida Southern College. The sophomore attackman scored three goals against the top ranked Mocs. She also had an impressive nine points with six goals and three assists, as well as three caused turnovers in an 18-7 win at Palm Beach Atlantic University. This is Lambros' first GSC Offensive Player of the Week award of the 2026 season.
Capolino had a strong week in goal to help the Saints earn the No. 1 spot in the rankings. The senior goalie made 11 saves on 26 shots faced, while being the only goalie so far this season against the top ranked Mocs to finish with more saves than goals allowed and having the most saves. Capolino also allowed only two goals in 30 minutes played in an 18-7 win against the Sailfish. This is Capolino's first GSC Defensive Player of the Week award of the 2026 season.
