SAINT LEO, Fla. - The No. 3 Flagler College men's tennis team dropped their road match, 5-2, against No. 11 Saint Leo University this afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
The Saints suffered their second loss of the season, falling to 9-2 overall. The Lions advanced to 9-2 and 3-2 in ranked matches. Flagler will return home to host Palm Beach Atlantic University on Mar. 21 at 12 p.m.
Facing a plethora of ranked players, the Saints dropped the doubles points after facing the No. 3 pair in the nation, Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia. Fighting an up hill battle, the Saints and Lions went neck and neck as five of the six matches went into three sets, two of which featured a tie break. No. 16
Ilian Borlee earned a ranked win after defeating No. 50 Eduardo Cohen, 1-6, 7-6(7-2) and 6-2.
Raphael Rousson was the lone Saint to have a match complete in two sets. The No. 41 ranked freshman defeated Sander Sootla 6-4 and 6-2.
