ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The No. 3 ranked Flagler College men's tennis team defeated No. 4 Wayne State University (Mich.), 4-0, this afternoon at the Pollard Tennis Center.
The Saints earned their second consecutive 4-0 victory which moved them to 9-1 overall. The Warriors suffered their second loss of the season, dropping to 8-2. The men will hit the road next week and travel to Saint Leo University on Mar. 19.
The Saints played to clinch for the second match in a row. Getting their first ranked win as a pair,
Aly El Rafie and
Filip Kana took down No. 11Â Luis Klaus and Harry Forsyth 6-2.
Aniss Rafiq and
Noah Paterson were the clinching Saints as they defeated Sam Knowles and Tom Wasner 6-4.
Securing the win for Flagler was No. 19
Simon Malis, No. 12
Ilian Borlee and No. 37
Raphael Rousson. Borlee was the first Saint to find a win, dominating Thomas Mathys 6-1 and 6-2. Malis was the only Saint to find a ranked win, defeating no. 53 Klaus in two 6-3 sets. Rousson was the final Saint to win, defeating Benjamin Hill 6-3 and 6-4.
