ST. AUGUSTINE - After a week off, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association No. 3 Flagler College men's tennis team defeated Lynn University 5-2 this afternoon at the Pollard Tennis Center.
The Saints advanced to a 5-1 record while the Fighting Knights dropped to 3-3. The Saints will host current No. 18 Wingate University on Mar. 5 at 2 p.m.
The Saints earned their victory on the singles courts as
Filip Kana and
Aly El Rafie were the only ones to earn a doubles win. The pair swept Daniel Azar and Lennart Ostheimer 6-0 on court three.
Staying undefeated and giving the Saints their first point was Kana who took his 6-2 and 6-4 win against Davide Cortimiglia. Not far behind Kana was El Rafie who also stayed undefeated, taking his match 7-6(7-4) and 6-2 against Daniel Rila.
Raphael Rousson was the next Saint to earn a point, defeating Santino Morel 7-6(7-2) and 6-4. The match clinching win came from No. 27
Simon Malis who defeated Aymen Alimoussa 7-6(7-5) and 7-5. No. 29
Ilian Borlee rounded out the Saints win with a 6-0, 6-7(7-4) and 6-1 win over Ostheimer.
