ST. AUGUSTINE –
Rahdir Hicks scored a team-high 20 points in Flagler College's 78-52 rout of Clayton State University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at Flagler Gymnasium.
Flagler snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 16-11 overall and 10-9 in the Peach Belt. The Saints swept the season series against the Lakers. Clayton State suffered its 11
th straight loss and fell to 2-25 overall and 1-18 in conference play. Flagler wraps up its regular season on Saturday against Georgia College & State University at 3:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
The Saints made their move with a quick 11-1 burst midway through the first half.
Tymoteusz Pszczola sank a three-pointer to start the run and gave Flagler a 19-12 lead with 10:25 to play in the first half. Hicks and
Mason Manning capped the run with a pair of three-pointers to push the Saints lead to 14 (27-13).
Pszczola added11 points for Flagler while
Melvin Teal recorded his first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Jojo Bell led Clayton State with a game-high 23 points while Joe Thomas recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
