Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

No. 18 Saints reel in the Sailfish

ST. AUGUSTINE - The No. 18 (United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Associations) Flagler College men's lacrosse team outlasted Palm Beach Atlantic University in their 10-7 win this evening.

Moving to .500 on the season, the Saints elevate to 2-2 on the season. The Sailfish took their first loss of the season, falling to 2-1. The Saints stay home this week, taking on Florida Southern College on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Exchanging goals through the first quarter, the Saints took a late lead in the final minute of the first and never looked back. Freshman Dempsey Gibbs had a career game, leading the Saints offense with six goals. Gibbs shot 6-7 with all seven being on goal. Notching two goals was Griffin Moore while Will Linko and Ben Nyberg each scored once. Trace Mcdonald, Nyberg and Brendan Obloj each added an assist.

A match littered with turnovers saw nine Saints cause at least one turnover. Ty Scheckenbach finished with a match high three while McDonald, John Kersey Brendan Watson, Mekai Nelson and Andrew Wehberg all had two. In ground balls, Nelson dominated the field with a match high five, followed by Nyberg and Scheckenbach with three. At the face, Tag Deluca won a staggering 15-21, the highest win total of his career thus far.
