ST. AUGUSTINE — Flagler College captured a narrow 67-61 victory over Columbus State University Saturday afternoon in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game at Flagler Gymnasium.
With this win, Flagler improved to 14-7 overall and 8-5 in the Peach Belt while Columbus State fell to 14-7 overall and 8-5 in conference play. The Saints won both games this year by a combined seven points. Both teams are tied for fourth place in the PBC. The host Middle Georgia State University this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
Flagler was led by
Rahdir Hicks, who scored 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting while grabbing four rebounds.
Hoku Fisher contributed 16 points while
Mason Manning recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three assists.
Tymoteusz Pszczola added six points and five rebounds, and
Melvin Teal finished with nine points and five rebounds. Flagler's balanced scoring attack helped the Saints maintain a lead for the majority of the game.
Columbus State was paced by Marlon Smith who scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-23 shooting and completed the double-double with 10 rebounds. Jordan Mitchell added nine points and four rebounds, while Lee Langstaff II contributed 12 points and two steals.
