KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches released the association's week nine NCAA Division 2 national poll on Tuesday afternoon, and the Flagler College men's soccer team moved up to No. 11. Flagler is riding a nine-game winning streak into the postseason, the longest winning streak in program history since 2002. The Saints rattled off 11 wins in Peach Belt Conference play, which was the most wins in conference play in PBC history. Flagler checked in at No. 11 in the latest NPI rank, and No. 2 in Super-Region 2 as the postseason approaches.
The Saints offense ranks No. 21 in the country in scoring with 2.29 goals per game. Senior
Finn Weigelt has led the attack with a team-high 11 goals across 17 appearances. The Berlin, Germany native has a pair of braces on the year and tied for the conference-lead in scoring. The veteran duo of
Tim Wahlborg and
Henry Okenla have combined to net 11 goals, including five game-winners.
On the backline, sophomore defender
Filip Hornburg has led the charge. The five-time PBC Defensive Player of the Week has contributed to six clean sheets while adding four goals and an assist on offense. Fellow defenders
Daniel Becerra and
Owen Cunha have also anchored defensive efforts while contributing two goals and an assist.
In goal,
Ryan Rivas and
Xander LaBelle have split the work and have three clean sheets each. Rivas has started the last four matches and has only conceded two goals during that stretch. The senior standout leads the conference in shutouts and goals against average at 0.94. Earlier this month, Rivas broke the school record with his 22

Flagler will return to action in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Saints captured their third PBC regular season title, and the first since 2011. With that crown, the Saints will start their postseason journey in the PBC Semifinals on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. Flagler will host the winner of USC Aiken and Lander.
