TURNING POINT
Capping off the regular season, Flagler made the hike to northern Alabama to take on the Chargers Invite. A race that saw 373 finishers, the Saints competed against three nationally ranked opponents in No. 10 Lee University, No. 24 University of Tampa and No. 29 Catawba College. In a pool of 38 teams, the Saints accumulated 322 points to place 11th overall. Narrowly edging out Flagler was Augusta University who placed 10th with 306 points. According to the latest United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Southeasst Region poll, Flagler sits at No. 5. Competing at the meet was No. 3 University of North Carolina Pembroke who the Saints beat by 63 points.

Turning in the fastest 6k of her career, Hanna Warren recorded the fastest time of the season for the Saints as she placed 49th overall. "We're moving in the right direction... Every week we're a little stronger, a little sharper," Head Coach Brian Beil said. Pack running proved to be beneficial to the Saints as the next four Saints in Izzy Harter, Marie Meyer-Piton, Jessie Gates and Rhiannon Hill finished within 11 seconds of each other. "Our top six all improved on their season best by over a minute. It's a very young team, and we'll be a stronger, sharper team as we head into championship season." Going toe-to-toe with conference heavyweight Augusta, Harter, Meyer-Piton and Gates all finished ahead of the Jaguars third place finisher to put the Saints within striking distance. "I'm particularly proud of the way they attacked the race, and as we continue with specific work down the stretch, they'll only get better," coach Beil finished while addressing the team.
