BLUFFTON, S.C. – Evan Kilminster sank a jumper from the right corner with one second left in overtime to give USC Beaufort an 83-82 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at the Sand Shark Recreation Center.
Flagler fell to 9-5 overall and 4-3 in the Peach Belt. USC Beaufort improved to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The Saints host Trinity College of Florida this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
Trailing 81-79 with seven seconds left in overtime,
Rahdir Hicks gave Flagler the lead after his layup and subsequent free throw. Kilminster, the next time down the court, missed a layup but was able to get the rebound, and USCB called a timeout. Flagler followed with a timeout of its own. Kilminster sank a jumper just inside the three-point line, off the inbounds pass from the baseline as time expired.
Tariq Daughton scored a team high 18 points, with 13 of those being scored in the second half and overtime. Hicks finished with 13 points and three assists.
Melvin Teal added 11 points and nine rebounds while
Camden Andrews tacked on 10 points and seven rebounds.
Qurahn Anderson scored a game high 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field for the Sand Sharks. Kilminster finished with a double-double as he scored 18 points and grabbed a game high 14 rebounds to go along with five assists. Ismail Rashid added 14 points while Shea Champine contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
