AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College redshirt junior catcher Eli Maddox was selected to the preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team, which was announced this morning, along with the preseason coaches' poll, by conference officials.

The Saints were picked to finish in sixth place by the league coaches with 58 points.

Last year, the Orange Park, Florida native earned first-team all-conference and D2CCA All-Southeast Region honors after leading the team in batting (.386), hits (66), home runs (6), runs batted in (41), total bases (93), slugging percentage (.544), and on-base percentage (.459). He tied for the team lead with 19 multi-hit games and led the club with 13 multi-RBI games. Maddox tied for the team-high with a 13-game hitting streak.

Columbus State University received five first place votes and tallied 89 points and was selected as the league favorite. The University of North Georgia received two first place votes and had 86 points. Lander University followed in third with four first place votes and 83 points. Georgia Southwestern State University (71) and Georgia College & State University (62) were Nos. 4 and 5. After Flagler, it was USC Aiken (54), Augusta University (37), Middle Georgia State University (32), USC Beaufort (23), and Claflin University (10).

Flagler opens the season Jan. 30 with a three-game series at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. The home opener is Feb. 6 against Mars Hill University at Drysdale Field. The PBC opener is Feb. 13 at Columbus State.
