Men's tennis releases their 2026 spring schedule

ST. AUGUSTINE - The Flagler College men's tennis team, released their spring schedule earlier this month.

Excluding tournaments, the regular season will feature 16 matches, with 12 being played at home. Last season, the Saints went 13-2 in home contests.

For the fourth consecutive year, the men will attend the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) DII Indoor National Championship, hosted by the University of Indianapolis from Feb. 13-15. This tournament features eight of the nation's top teams. In the first round of the tournament, No. 2 seeded Flagler will face No. 7 seeded and current No. 9 in the nation Azusa Pacific University. Other institutions in attendance will be top seeded Barry University, No. 3 University of West Florida, No. 4 Lubbock Christian University, No. 5 Washburn University, No. 6 University of Texas at Tyler and No. 8 University of Indianapolis.

"We have our work cut out for us," head coach, Jonas Piibor said. "There are many tough matches ahead and we will approach each match at a time, with same intensity and appreciation to compete in the sport we love."

Within the Peach Belt Conference, the Saints are one of four teams nationally ranked. The University of North Georgia sits at No. 10, Columbus State University at No. 11 and Lander University is ranked No. 21. Flagler hosts North Georgia March 27 in its conference opener.

In non-conference matches, the Saints will face No. 6 Washburn, No. 12 Saint Leo University, No. 14 Florida Southern College, No. 19 Wingate University and No. 23 Wayne State University (Mich.).

The PBC tournament will be held on Apr. 24-26 at Columbus State. The winner of the tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Southeast Regional on May 11-12.

The NCAA DII National Championship will be held in Surprise, Arizona at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex beginning May 20.
