Saints and Bobcats play to a draw after Churchill’s equalizer

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. Paige Churchill scored Flagler College's equalizing goal in the 57th minute in a 1-1 draw against Georgia College & State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Saints Field.

The Saints are now 3-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play. Georgia College leaves with a 3-3-2 overall record and a 2-0-1 mark in the Peach Belt.  Flagler will travel to play its next game against Lander University on Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. at Greenwood, South Carolina.

The Saints tied the match at 56:01 when Carrie Consolino connected the ball with Churchill landing the goal in the low left corner of the net.

Georgia College's Ellie Fuller scored the Bobcats goal in the first half in the 39th minute.

Goalkeeper Madi Narducci recorded one save for the Saints while Kassidy Fortin also tallied one save for the Bobcats.

Flagler out-shot GCSU 9-5 as four different Saints took two shots. However, the Bobcats held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Georgia College committed 11 fouls and Flagler had 10 more.
