Marley Middlebrooks led Flagler College with 22 kills while
Clare Sheedy tallied 73 assists in the final two matches at the Hyatt Place Bash at the Beach this afternoon at Rubin Arena. Flagler opened the day with a 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-9) victory over Lee University and finished the day with a 3-0 (21-25, 23-25, 21-25) loss to Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Flagler leaves with an overall record of 4-8. Palm Beach Atlantic improved to 10-1 while Lee dropped to 4-4. The Saints take on Rollins College next week on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Warden Arena.
Gracie Fleming recorded a career high 16 kills and finished with a .481 hitting percentage to lead Flagler against Lee. Middlebrooks added 14 kills, eight digs, and had two total blocks. Bella Schwantz led the defense with a career-high 18 digs.
Peyton Danley recorded a team-high 14 kills for the Flames. Izzy Denton led in digs with 21 while Sara Palumbo finished with 15 digs and eight kills.
In the final match against PBA, Bloom had a team-high 10 kills. Middlebrooks added eight more kills while leading the Saints in digs with a career high 16 and had two aces. Sheedy tallied 30 assists while also leading the Saints in total blocks with two.
Kelsey Rodgers led the Sailfish offense with 12 kills and hit .632 with no errors on 19 attacks. Rodgers also found herself in five of PBA's eight total team blocks. Grace Reynolds had a match high 34 assists. Maggie Patterson collected 14 digs.
