WINGATE N.C. - The Flagler College men's cross country team finished eighth at the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate University Saturday morning.

The Saints faced off against some of the top teams in the southeast region, such as No. 1 Wingate, No. 30 Anderson University and Catawba College. Featuring 13 teams, the 7000 meter race had 145 runners.

Making their season debut, Will Stone and Romain Biguet led the Saints. Taking 44th, 45th and 46th, the Saints pack consisted of a 23:31.26 finish by Stone and a 23:31.63 finish by Biguet. In his second race of the season, Luke Larkin trailed Stone and Biguet with a 23:32.04 finish. Bryce Dufrene was the last Saint to crack the top-50, placing 49th in 23:37.13.

The Saints will compete next week at the Apalachee Regional Park as they take on the FSU XC Invitational on Sep. 26.
