ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. –
Reiss Skeen scored the lone goal of the match in the 62
nd minute as Flagler College edged Eckerd College 1-0 in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Johnson Field.
Flagler improved to 2-1-1. Eckerd remains winless in its last three matches and dropped to 1-2-2. The Saints host Florida Southern College this Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Saints Field.
Alex Alexandrou dribbled into the right side of box and threaded a pass to Skeen at the top of box. Skeen received the pass on his right foot and blasted a shot into the top right corner of the goal.
Ryan Rivas turned in his second consecutive clean sheet as he saved two shots. Duran van Woerkom had seven saves for Eckerd.
Finn Weigelt and
Henry Okenla each were credited with four shots. Okenla had three on frame. Pharrell Williams led the Tritons with two shots.
Flagler out-shot Eckerd 18-7 and had a 10-5 spread in corner kicks. The Tritons committed 14 fouls while the Saints were whistled for 10.
