Flagler finishes in 12th place at the Argonaut Invite

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Flagler College finished in 12th place with an 8-over par 872 (297-285-290) at the Argonaut Invitational, which concluded today at the Pensacola Country Club (par 72; 6,903 yards).

That concludes the regular season for the Saints and they will get ready for the Peach Belt Conference Championship April 18-20 at the Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia.

No. 2 (SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25) University of West Florida overcame a two-stroke deficit to top the 14-team field with a 34-under 830 (282-272-276). No. 8 Georgia Southwestern State University finished in second with a 25-under 839 (276-276-287). No. 3 University of North Georgia (842) followed in third place while No. 13 Columbus State University (845) finished in fourth place. No. 19 Lander University (850) rounded out the top five. Eight of the 14 teams in the field are ranked in the top 25.

Per Ekelund of West Florida finished atop the 80-man field with a 16-under 200 (67-66-67). Trey Rouse and Fabian Wennerlof of West Florida tied for second place with a 10-under 206. Colby Bennett of North Georgia, Joao Costa of Georgia Southwestern, and Felipe Gomez of Georgia Southwestern all tied for fourth place with an 8-under 208.   

Nic Eberhard led the Flagler contingent as he finished in a tie for 30th place with a 1-under 215 (73-71-71). Rocco Randazzo tied for 33rd place with an even par 216 (74-68-74). Dylan Mason carded a 5-over 221 (75-73-73) and finished in a tie for 51st place. Joel Petersson finished a stroke behind Mason with a 6-over 222 (75-73-74) as he tied for 55th place. Matthew French rounded out the team with a 9-over 225 (79-74-72).
