Men's lacrosse selected in the first NCAA regional rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Flagler College men's lacrosse team was one of 10 teams named to the first NCAA Division II South Region rankings, released on Wednesday afternoon. NCAA Division II lacrosse is comprised of two regions, the North and the South, with the South holding 43 teams.

The first round of regional rankings is listed off alphabetically. In the next poll, the NCAA will assign a numerical ranking to each team in the poll.

Upon the release of the poll, the Saints had an 11-1 in-region record and an overall record of 12-1. Flagler is only one of three schools selected that is not affiliated with either the Sunshine State Conference or the South Atlantic Conference and is the only school representing the Peach Belt Conference.

Joining the Saints on the poll is Anderson University (10-3, 10-3), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (7-5, 8-5) Lenoir-Rhyne University (11-2, 11-2), Lewis University (10-2, 10-3), Limestone University (13-1, 13-1), Lynn University (7-4, 9-4), Maryville University (9-3, 9-3), Newberry College (9-5, 9-5) and the University of Tampa (14-0, 15-0).

The Saints are currently ranked third in Rating Percentage Index (RPI), at .641. Ahead of the Saints is Tampa in first with an RPI of .719, followed by Limestone at .644. Within the region, the Saints have the third-best win-loss percentage at .917. In terms of strength of schedule, the Saints are at .526 which is 23rd in the region.
